Chanel has introduced the Smokey Eye Collection. Trust me...this is one collection that you can't live without. One trend that I saw at show after show at Fashion Week was the smokey eye; yes...dark eyes for Spring. All variations; sheer, sooty, dark, sultry. The Chanel Smokey Eye Collection is the solution to how to achieve all of the looks for this season into next.

The essential piece of the collection is the
Smoky Eyes Quadra Eye Shadow. Done in the most exquisite colors, you can mix and match endless variations to create the perfect look. Three colors are pearlized--white, silver/grey and what I would describe as a "hematite" color, or shimmery graphite color. The fourth color is matte black. My recommendation would be to use the matte black color as a liner, the light grey on the lid, the dark grey in the crease and the white as a highlighter. I've been playing with this for about 2 weeks now (the minute I saw it on counter, I had to have it!) and love the different looks you can achieve.
There are two single eyeshadows in the collection: Black Star, a pearlized silver-black and Platine, a soft white-silver. It was with supreme effort that I didn't pick up the Black Star, as it is beautiful. The Eyeliner Duo in Noir Lamé, a black matter/black shimmer combination, is stunning. The powder formula is made to mimic the precision of a liquid liner with the smudged look of a Kohl pencil.
Also new in this collection is Exceptionnel de Chanel Mascara, a volumizing and curling mascara. Of course I had to buy this...and I love it. The formula is smudgeproof and does provide intense volume and "false eyelash" effect. The secret is in the brush, which has 3 combs to separate and curl lashes. Using a "rolling" technique from the base of the eyelash helps to create va-va-voom lashes. Exceptionnel de Chanel Mascara comes in four shades.
The Chanel Smokey Eye Collection is available now in department and specialty stores and will be available online at Chanel.com this month.
This was released in Asia sometime ago and I did a review on it too. I have been using its mascara since and I really like it. However, I didn't like the qaud as much so I passed it. I find the singles of better quality and more pigmented too.

I saw your review, which was excellent, btw! I was jealous that you guys got this a while back! :)

I'M INTERESTED IN TRYING THE MASCARA. AS FOR THE REST OF THE PRODUCTS, I DO LIKE CHANEL - GOOD QUALITY, BUT INSANELY PRICED. JUST NOT SURE IF BLACK AND GREY SHADOWS ARE WORTH THE MONEY. EVERY COMPANY MAKES THOSE COLORS - AND MANY ARE JUST AS INCREDIBLE (NARS HAS A GREAT BLACK SHADOW THAT DOESN'T SMUDGE AND HAS MAJOR STAYING POWER!).
XOXO,

I agree you can find a "flat" grey, slate or charcoal eye shadow for less money and I do have those colors in my collection (MAC), but the finish on these are different. I just bought the Chanel Black Shimmer eyeliner last night & it looks fab with the Quad! Thx for stopping by! :)

I was at Bloomingdales today looking for this particular quad. I saw it in Asia this summer and wanted it then but passed b/c I have a lot of products (personal and professional). I realized I did not own any black/grey/white/silver combinations to create the classic smokey eye look. Instead I have blues, greens, browns, purples, blue-grey, etc. to create the smokey eye and probably should have a classic black/grey shadows to create the classic. Unfortunately, the quad at Chanel is completely sold out. One of those i-must-have-it cult products.
I got sent a free deluxe sample of the new mascara and tried it out for the first time last night. I accidentally fell asleep with it on last night and woke up this morning smudge free! Amazing. The comb is a little tricky to maneuver but I really like the formulation of the mascara.

I have this quad too! I love how the colours are so complementary, and especially the fine shimmer, it looks like diamond dust!
I am also lemming hard for the cake eyeliner, would you consider this or a normal gel eyeliner to be better? I have not tried a cake eyeliner before. May i ask if the black shimmmer eyeliner that you bought is pencil or liquid? interested to get it. thanks!

I think cake vs gel eyeliner is a matter of preference, the desired effect and how long you want it to last. Personally, I love gel eyeliners for a daytime look; at night the cake eyeliner can be more dramatic. The Black Shimmer is one of the pencil/"pen" type eyeliners with the built-in sharpener. I have to tell you, though, the cake eyeliner in this collection is gorgeous & would be beautiful for night or holiday looks. Come back & tell me which one you buy!
